Interactive computer and technology workshop to learn how to design and create with Canva, for seniors, educators and adults.
Create with Canva - Learn, Design, & Create! is coming to the College Avenue Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library on Monday, November 16. It's an interactive computer and technology workshop that runs from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, and it's aimed at seniors, educators, and adults. The whole session is built around Canva, the design tool that lets you put together graphics, presentations, and social media posts without needing a background in professional design software.
Because it's an interactive workshop, you won't just be watching someone else work. You'll be on a computer yourself, following along and building your own projects as you go. The focus is on learning how to design and create, so you'll walk away with a better handle on how to use the tool rather than just a list of tips. It's the kind of class where you actually get your hands dirty with the software.
There is one thing to have ready before you show up: you'll need a free Canva account to take part. If you don't have one yet, it's a good idea to set it up ahead of time so you can jump straight into the designing when the session starts.

The workshop is held at the College Avenue Branch, located at 4180 North College Avenue in Indianapolis. The branch has a long history in the neighborhood: it opened in 1924 as the Broadway Branch, operating out of a frame house on East 42nd Street until 1958, when a 6,500-square-foot facility opened on Broadway Street. That building was replaced in August 2000 by the current 16,000-square-foot structure on College Avenue, which took the branch's name. The session runs from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Monday, November 16.
