Library workshop for seniors and adults on organising email folders, filtering messages and dealing with spam safely.
Cleaning Your Email Inbox is coming to the Indianapolis Public Library, College Avenue Branch on Monday, November 16, from 6 PM to 7:30 PM. It's a class and workshop run as part of the library's Technology Help / Computer Classes programming, geared toward seniors and adults who find themselves overwhelmed by their email inbox and struggling to keep it clean and free of spam.
The session walks you through the practical side of managing your mail. You'll learn how to organize your messages into folders, set up rules to filter incoming mail, and deal with spam safely. Because it's a workshop and not just a lecture, you'll be doing the work as you go rather than just watching someone else do it. The library asks that you arrive knowing both your email address and your password so you can dive right in.
If you're not familiar with the venue, the College Avenue Branch has a long neighborhood history. It opened as the Broadway Branch in 1924, serving the area from a frame house on East 42nd Street until 1958, when a 6,500-square-foot facility opened on Broadway Street. That building eventually became overcrowded and was replaced in August 2000 by the current 16,000-square-foot structure at 4180 North College Avenue, which was renamed the College Avenue Branch.
