Indianapolis Public Library children's craft club session using natural, eco-friendly materials, with parent help for younger children and registration required.
The Children's Craft Club is back at the Wayne Branch Library on Friday, November 6, with a session titled Nature is an Artist. It runs from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM, and as the title suggests, the focus is on the natural world as a source of inspiration.
The club is run by the Indianapolis Public Library and meets twice a month at the Wayne Branch. Each session is built around a new theme, and the projects work with natural, eco-friendly materials rather than store-bought kits. This one, Nature is an Artist, is the November 6 session. If you've got younger kids, they might need a hand from a parent to get through the project, so it's a good one to do together. Registration is required, so you'll want to sign up ahead of time.
For those who haven't spent much time there, the Wayne Branch is at 198 South Girls School Road in Indianapolis. It's been around since December 1969, when it first opened in a shopping center on Rockville Road, before moving into its permanent 13,500-square-foot home in 1984. A $1.1 million renovation in 2020 added more seating, activity space, study rooms, and a quiet reading area, but it kept the building's split design with separate children's and adult wings. The craft club takes place in the children's side, so it's a kid-friendly environment from the moment you walk in.
