Free workshop with library staff to help seniors and adults build or revise a resume using a modern template.
Build Your Dream Resume is coming to the College Avenue Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library on Tuesday, November 17, from 12 PM to 2 PM. It's a two-hour workshop designed for seniors and adults, and the whole point is to get your resume into a place where it actually does its job: getting you an interview.
If you've already got a resume, you'll spend the session revising it. If you're starting from zero, you'll build one from the ground up. Either way, you'll be working with a modern template and updated language meant to catch an employer's eye, and library staff will be there to guide you through the editing and reformatting. You're not just left to figure it out on your ownโthey'll help you tweak the wording and get the layout right. They also hand out information about career resources from around the city, so you'll walk away with more than just a finished document.
This is part of a larger set of free career services the library offers. Through its Career Centers at several locations, the Indianapolis Public Library provides one-on-one assistance with resume help, job searching, and online applications. If you need a professional eye on your resume or help prepping for an interview, adults can also access free review and coaching via Brainfuse JobNow, with online job coaches available daily from 2 PM to 11:59 PM. The Career Center is made possible by Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.
