Build Your Dream Resume

Build Your Dream Resume is happening at the College Avenue Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library on Tuesday, December 15, from 12 PM to 2 PM. It's a workshop for seniors and adults, and the whole point is to get your resume in a place where it actually does some work for you.

If you're starting from scratch, you'll build one using a modern template and updated language meant to impress employers. If you already have a draft, library staff will be there to help you edit and reformat it. They'll also point you toward career resources from around the city, so you aren't just leaving with a piece of paper but with a few more leads on where to go next. It's a two-hour window, so there's plenty of time to actually get the writing done rather than just talking about it.

If you need more than a single session, the library has other career support on the side. They offer free one-on-one career assistance at several locations through their Career Centers, which covers resume help, job searching, and support with online applications. There's also Brainfuse JobNow, an online job-coaching service available daily from 2 PM to 11:59 PM for professional resume review and interview prep, with 24/7 access to resume templates, skills building, and test prep. The Career Center is made possible by Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Library Foundation.

The workshop is at the College Avenue Branch, 4180 North College Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46205, on Tuesday, December 15, from 12 PM to 2 PM.
