Drop-in LEGO building session for school-age children and preschoolers as part of the library's Kid Central programming.
Block Party is back at the Central Library on Saturday, October 24, from 10 AM to 11 AM. It's a drop-in program where kids build with LEGO bricks and blocks on the third floor, so you don't have to be there right at the start to get in on it.
It's part of the library's Kid Central programming, which is aimed at school-age children and preschoolers, and it falls under their gaming and kids' activities. If your kids are under 12, they'll need to be accompanied by an adult, so plan on hanging out with them while they build.
If you haven't spent much time there, the Central Library is the hub of the Indianapolis Public Library system. The original 1917 building was designed by Paul Cret and built of Indiana limestone in the Greek Doric style, and it's considered one of the most outstanding secular buildings in the United States. A six-story glass and steel-framed addition by Evans Woollen opened in 2007, so there's a fair amount of ground to cover. You'll find Block Party on the third floor, which is where the Kid Central activities are centered.
