Hands-on art session for preschoolers aged 3 to 6 to explore art inspired by picture books and make their own masterpiece with clay.
Art Adventures comes to the East 38th Street Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library on Wednesday, November 11, from 11 AM to 11:45 AM. It's a hands-on session for preschoolers aged 3 to 6, led by Jeremy South of Ripple Mobile Arts. The whole thing is built around picture books: the kids explore art inspired by what they read and then make their own masterpiece using clay and other materials. It's a short window—forty-five minutes—so it fits right into a morning with little ones.
If you're bringing a child, there's one practical detail to keep in mind: the organizers encourage families to dress to mess. Between the clay and the other materials, things are going to get messy, so don't send them in anything you're worried about. The session is made possible by the Everwise Foundation through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.

For those who aren't as familiar with the venue, the East 38th Street Branch has a bit of history on this site. It's the third library to be here: the first opened in 1957 as the Emerson Branch, a 7,500-square-foot building replaced it in 1962, and that branch closed in 2003 when the current 16,000-square-foot library opened. It's at 5420 East 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46218. The session runs from 11 AM to 11:45 AM on Wednesday, November 11.
