Margarita tasting competition where Houston bars and restaurants vie for Best Margarita, with samples, a live DJ, street food vendors and a beer garden.
The Houston Margarita Festival is back at East River on Saturday, October 24, from 12 PM to 6 PM. Presented by East River and organized by the International Margarita Organization, it's one of the city's largest margarita tasting competitions, and the whole thing is built around a single question: who makes the best margarita in Houston?
That's where you come in. Bars and restaurants from across the city go head-to-head, and the crowd decides the winner. Each entry ticket gets you ten 3.5-ounce samples poured by the competing spots, so you can work your way through the field and cast your vote. The winner walks away with a $1,000 prize, and around 2,500 margarita lovers are expected to be there doing the same thing you are.
It's not just a tasting, though. The day is set up like a party, with a live DJ, street food vendors, and a beer garden to keep things moving between rounds. There's also a raffle for a trip to Mexico, and a portion of the proceeds goes to children's charities. It's an all-day affair, so you've got plenty of time to sample, eat, and hang out without feeling rushed.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Houston and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
