Barbecue cook-off with brisket, ribs, chicken and sausage, fried appetizers and a full bar hosted by Prime Time Cookers at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Prime Time Cookers are hosting their party at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo BBQ CookOff from Thursday, February 25 to Saturday, February 27, 2027. You'll find them at NRG Park, 1 NRG Parkway, Booth 400, in Quadrant A, Spot A-400 along Kirby Drive. The party runs from noon on Thursday through 11 PM on Saturday, so there's plenty of room to drop in whenever you can.
On the food side, they're serving up a full barbecue spread: brisket, ribs, chicken, and sausage, along with crawfish and shrimp. There are fried appetizers to go with it and a full bar to keep things moving. A DJ handles the music, and the vibe shifts throughout the night—relaxed before 8 PM, then it turns into a full party after that. One thing to keep in mind: entry is restricted to 21 and over after 7 PM, so if you're bringing a younger crowd, you'll want to get there early.
Behind the party is Prime Time Cookers, a non-profit group of friends and family that's been around since 1994. They describe themselves as being focused on fun, supporting the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and raising money for charity, and they make it clear that no individual or business involved receives compensation. The whole thing is rain-or-shine and non-refundable, though you can add refund protection if you want that peace of mind.
