Annual presentation by the Buffalo Bayou Partnership on the Buffalo Bayou East 10-Year Plan, with a design panel and reception.
Buffalo Bayou Partnership is hosting its annual progress report on Buffalo Bayou East at The Warehouse at Turkey Bend on Tuesday, October 27, from 6 to 8 PM. It's a free event, and the whole evening is an update on the Buffalo Bayou East 10-Year Planโthe long-term project to build a network of parks, trails, bridges, and cultural destinations east of downtown Houston.
The plan is about turning former industrial sites into places for recreation, nature, and community, linking the Greater East End, the Fifth Ward, and Buffalo Bayou. BBP has been leading the effort to reimagine the waterway since 1986, and the work is backed by a $100 million catalyst gift from the Kinder Foundation.
The main event is a presentation called A Day Along Buffalo Bayou, put together by the design teams from SWA, Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, Reed Hilderbrand, Dept., Asakura Robinson, and Waggoner & Ball. That's followed by a moderated panel discussion, so you'll get to hear from the people actually drawing the maps and planning the spaces. The session will be recorded and posted to BBP's website and YouTube afterward, and it's offered in both English and Spanish.

The venue itself is part of the story. The Warehouse at Turkey Bend is a 1930s street-level shipping warehouse and waterfront barge terminal that opened in fall 2025 as a cultural destination in the historic East End. It's located at 5803 Navigation Blvd. in Houston. The presentation runs from 6 to 8 PM, and admission is free.
