Shaun Majumder: Born Again New Canadian

Shaun Majumder brings his stand-up show Born Again New Canadian to The Bruce Guthro Theatre at Casino Nova Scotia on Saturday, February 6, 2027, at 4:00 PM. It's a matinee, so it's one of those gigs you can catch in the afternoon and still have your whole evening ahead of you.

If the name rings a bell but you can't quite place the face, Majumder is a Newfoundland-raised comedian who first made his mark on This Hour Has 22 Minutes. Since then, he's moved into acting, with roles in Republic of Doyle and the series FROM. This show, though, is back on the stand-up side of things. Born Again New Canadian turns inward, with Majumder working through family, culture, and what it actually means to become a 'born-again Canadian'. It's the kind of material that leans on his own history rather than just riffing on the news of the day.

The theatre is inside Casino Nova Scotia, at 1983 Upper Water Street in downtown Halifax. It's a central spot, so it's easy enough to get to from anywhere in the city. One thing to keep in mind before you book: the performance is for ages 19 and over only, which makes sense given the venue. If you're planning on bringing a group, just double-check everyone's ID.
