Drag and burlesque showcase with ASL interpretation and dance party, a Halloween night produced by Halifax drag king Randi E. Rogenous.
Kissing Monsters takes over Garrison Brewing Company on Friday, October 30, as part of the Randi E. Rogenous trilogy. It's billed as the scariest and sexiest show of the season, and it works as both a drag and burlesque showcase and a dance party, so it's a long night that changes shape as it goes.
The showcase runs from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with ASL interpretation provided. The line-up brings together Lacia Majora, Babia Majora, Randi E. Rogenous, Hannibal Lickeder, Penny Cillin, Helena Havok, and Izzy Limpwrist. The dance party kicks off at 10:45 p.m., so the two overlap for the final stretch of the showcase. The whole thing is a Randi E. Rogenous production; Rogenous is a Halifax-based drag king who also takes bookings.
There's a costume angle to it, too. The crowd is encouraged to turn up in their sluttiest and weirdest Halloween attire for a chance to be named Halloween hottie of the year, so if you've been sitting on a particularly strange outfit, this is the night to bring it out. It's presented as the place to be this Halloween, and the late start means you can make a whole evening of it.
