Three-day Scottish festival on the Halifax waterfront with Scottish food and drink, live music, family activities, movies and games.
Scotoberfest takes over the Halifax waterfront from Thursday 22 to Saturday 24 October, with the main action centred at Queen's Marque and the Historic Properties. It's a three-day stretch of Scottish culture brought right down to the water, and the programme is built around a few different things running at once rather than one single show.
On the food and drink side, there's Scottish-inspired fare and drinks to work your way through. That sits alongside live music, family activities, movies, games, and friendly competition, so it's less of a single event and more of a gathering you can pick and choose from. They describe it as entertainment for the whole clan, and the mix of things — the music, the food, the games — means you can spend an hour or a whole afternoon there without needing to do everything.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Halifax and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

Because it's spread across three days, you've got a bit of room to fit it in. Thursday 22 and Friday 23 both run from 4 to 9 PM, which works if you're heading down after work. Saturday 24 is the longest day, open from 11 AM to 11 PM, so that's the one for a proper afternoon and evening out. Between the two venues, Queen's Marque and the Historic Properties, there's plenty of ground to cover across the waterfront.
