Oktoberfest-inspired celebration of Scottish food, drink, live music, family activities, movies and games at Queen's Marque.
Scotoberfest returns to the Queen's Marque District on Thursday, October 22, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. It's an Oktoberfest-inspired celebration of Scottish drinks, food, music and culture, held by the water at Queen's Marque and the Historic Properties. The programme mixes food and drink with live music, family activities, movies, games and friendly competition, with something for the whole clan.
The venue itself is a new district in an iconic and historic neighbourhood, with cultural spaces designed to connect visitors and locals and details that preserve the area's maritime past. Along Lower Water, a recreated 'wrack line' of granite planters runs the length of the street. At the bottom of Prince Street, ballast boxes are filled with stones from trading ports like the West Indies, Galway, Cuba and the Carolinas. You'll also find original 19th-century British military survey markers, including a granite stone inscribed 'W.D.' for the War Department. At night, a line of light runs along the side of the building as a subtle reference to a ship's waterline.
