HFX Wanderers FC vs. Cavalry FC

HFX Wanderers FC take on Cavalry FC at Wanderer Grounds on Monday, October 12, with kickoff at 4:00 PM AST. It's a cross-country clash that brings one of the league's founding clubs to Halifax for a mid-afternoon match.

Cavalry FC comes from Calgary, Alberta, where they've been a fixture of the Canadian Premier League since its start. They were founded in 2018 and began play in 2019 as one of the league's founding members. That first season was a strong one: they won both the Spring and Fall seasons to reach the CPL's first-ever finals, under founding head coach Tommy Wheeldon Jr. and with players like Nico Pasquotti, Sergio Camargo, Marco Carducci and Joe Mason.

Back home, they play at ATCO Field at Spruce Meadows, a purpose-built CPL ground inside the Spruce Meadows equestrian facility south of Calgary. It opened in 2019 and holds around 6,000 fans in a compact, single-tier stadium. Their biggest rivalry is with Forge FC, a feud that goes back to those first CPL Finals, and they also have Western Canadian clashes with Pacific FC and prairie-region games against Valour FC.

For this one, the action is right here in the city at Wanderer Grounds, 5819 Sackville St, Halifax, NS B3H 2C9. Kickoff is at 4:00 PM AST, and the gates open around 3:00 PM, so there's plenty of time to get in and find your spot before the match starts.
