Professional women's soccer match between Halifax Tides FC and Ottawa Rapid FC at the historic Wanderers Grounds.
Halifax Tides FC open their 2026 season at The Wanderers Grounds on Monday, August 3, taking on Ottawa Rapid FC. It's their first home game of the year, and it's a match with a bit of history behind it.
If you're new to the setup, the Tides are Nova Scotia's first professional soccer club. They're one of the six founding teams of the Northern Super League, which brought professional women's soccer to Atlantic Canada for the first time in 2025. This is their second season in the league, and they're returning to the same ground where they spent the inaugural campaign.
There's a particular thread connecting this game to the one before it. The Tides and Ottawa Rapid FC met in the final match of that first season, and Halifax walked away with their first-ever league win over Ottawa in their first home meeting of the year. The club hit its stride late in 2025, and that momentum is what they're carrying into this 2026 opener. On the pitch, you'll see captains Syd Kennedy, Saorla Miller, and Cho So-Hyun leading the side, with striker Tiffany Cameron up front. The game is being played under the club's 'Teal Wave' theme, so expect the stands to be leaning into the team colours.
