Professional women's football match between Halifax Tides FC and Calgary Wild FC at the historic Wanderers Grounds.
Halifax Tides FC take on Calgary Wild FC at the Wanderers Grounds on Saturday, October 3, with kick-off at 3:00 PM. It's an intercity clash that brings the Tides' Northern Super League football back to the city's main outdoor soccer ground, 5819 Sackville Street.
For those still getting to know the club, the Tides are Halifax's first professional women's football team, playing in the Northern Super League. They made their first big splash in January 2025 when they signed Canadian Olympic gold medalist Erin McLeod as their first player, and they've since brought on founding partners like Bell, Autoport Limited and Desjardins. Goalkeeper coach Mark Haynes is leading the team on the pitch.
This isn't the first time these two have met, and the history between them is tight. Calgary Wild FC hold the edge with five wins, zero draws and four losses against the Tides, with twelve goals scored and twelve conceded across their meetings. That includes a 1-0 home win for Calgary on September 12 and two away losses for them back in June, so the Tides have had their share of the better days too.
