Canadian Northern Super League women's football match between Halifax Tides FC and AFC Toronto at the historic Wanderers Grounds.
Halifax Tides FC take on AFC Toronto at Wanderers Grounds this Sunday, August 23, at 12:00 p.m. ET. It's a Canadian Northern Super League regular season fixture, and it marks the third time these two sides have met this season.
Toronto comes into this one with a 1-1-0 record against Halifax, which includes a 1-0 win on these same grounds back on July 5. That goal came from 18-year-old striker Kaylee Hunter, who's currently tied with Lauren Rowe for fourth in the NSL Golden Boot race with seven goals each. Between them, Hunter and Rowe have scored 14 of Toronto's 26 goals this season, so they're the two names to watch if you're following the scoring race. Toronto will be looking to build on that previous result here.
On the other side, Halifax head coach Marko Milanović has been vocal about the Tides' organization, their work rate, and the chemistry they've built as a group. This is their home turf, and they'll be playing in front of their own crowd at the waterfront stadium.
