East Coast Markets & Exchange 2026 Summer Marketplace & Shows

East Coast Markets & Exchange is taking over Foundation Wharf on the Halifax Waterfront for two days, August 28 and 29, 2026. It's a multicultural marketplace that brings together local vendors with global roots — artisans, makers, artists, retailers, food vendors, community organisations and small businesses — all in one spot. The whole thing is free to attend.

Beyond the stalls, there's a full programme running across both days: live performances, cultural showcases, interactive workshops, dance experiences and family-friendly activities. The marketplace is the anchor, but the performances and workshops are what turn it into something more than just a fair. It's built around the diversity, cultures and communities that make Nova Scotia unique, and the mix of vendors reflects that — people from across the city and province bringing their own backgrounds to the waterfront.

There's a clear aim behind it, too. The organisers describe it as a way to advance intercultural understanding, inclusion and anti-racism, creating opportunities for people of all backgrounds to connect, learn from one another and build meaningful relationships. It's less about a quick shop and more about spending a couple of days seeing what the different communities in the city are making and doing.

It runs from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM on both Friday and Saturday, so you've got plenty of time to wander through the stalls and catch the performances without having to rush. Entry is free, and it's all happening at Foundation Wharf on the Halifax Waterfront.
