Summer Afro dance classes with Danceflow Halifax, every Saturday in July for $5 per class, open to beginners and experienced dancers.
Danceflow Halifax is running Afro dance classes at Halifax Dance every Saturday in July, with the next one coming up on Saturday, July 25, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. It's part of a four-week series, so if you've missed the earlier ones, you can still jump in.
The classes are built around Afro dance, and the whole thing is designed to keep you active while you pick up new moves. It's a four-week experience, meaning the sessions build on each other over the course of the month rather than standing as one-off workshops. If you're coming for the first time, you'll be joining a group that's been working through the same material since the start of July.
One of the better things about it is that it's open to both beginners and experienced dancers. You don't need a background in dance to get involved, and you don't need to have any particular style under your belt before you show up. The sessions are described as energetic and welcoming, and they're as much about connecting with a vibrant community as they are about the dancing itself.

It's a low-stakes way to spend a Saturday evening in the city. Each class runs for an hour and a half, and they're held at Halifax Dance, 1505 Barrington Street, right in the heart of downtown. The price is C$5 per class, so you can drop in for a single session or stick with it for the rest of the month. The next one is Saturday, July 25, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm.
