The classic Agatha Christie play The Mousetrap, now on its 75th Anniversary Tour across the UK and Ireland.
The Mousetrap comes to the King's Theatre from 12 to 17 April 2027, as part of its 75th Anniversary Tour across the UK and Ireland. It's Agatha Christie's most famous play, and it's one of those few shows that's become a bit of a cultural landmark in its own right.
To give you a sense of the scale, it's been running since 1952 and is billed as the world's longest-running play, with more than 30,000 performances at St. Martin's Theatre in the West End. Over the decades, it's become as much of a London icon as Big Ben or Buckingham Palace, so seeing it here in Glasgow is a rare chance to catch it without the trip south.
The plot is a classic closed-circle mystery: a shocking murder rattles London, and seven strangers take refuge in a remote country guesthouse, only to discover that the threat is already inside their walls. It's the kind of story where everyone is a suspect and the tension builds as the circle tightens. The production is also known as the best-kept secret in theatre history, because the ending is something you're asked to keep to yourself after the curtain falls.
