Charity fun run for Movember with 1.5k, 5k, 10k and half marathon distances across Glasgow Green.
The Glasgow MoRun is coming to Glasgow Green on Sunday 29 November, the city's stop in a series of road races that support Movember and men's health. It's a charity fun run, so the whole thing is built around raising awareness and funds for the cause, and it's open to runners of all ages and abilities. If you've never done a MoRun before, the idea is simple: you pick your distance, get moving, and the money goes to Movember.
That's the part that makes it easy to bring a group along. There are four distances to choose from, so you can match your run to your fitness level rather than stretching yourself too far. For adults, there's a 5k, a 10k, and a half marathon. If you're not quite ready for the longer ones, the 5k is a great starting point; if you've been training, the half marathon gives you something to aim for. The 1.5k Mini MoRun is for the kids, and it's fully race-chipped, so they get a proper time for their run just like the adults do.
Because of the different distances, it's the kind of event you can do with family and friends. You can all start and finish together even if you're running completely different lengths, which takes some of the pressure off and keeps it more about the day than the clock. The races are run by MoRunning, who put on a series of these events throughout the year to support Movember's work on men's health.
