Award-winning stand-up comedian Susan Calman brings her new show Tall Tales, about cruising, driving tanks, cats and getting older, to The Pavilion Theatre.
Susan Calman is back on stage at The Pavilion Theatre on Friday 13 November, with her new show Tall Tales. It's her first tour in ten years, and the title is a bit of a wink: she's a decade older now, though she admits she's not necessarily any wiser for it. The show is built around the improbable situations she's found herself in over that decade, and the list of what she's talking about is as random as it sounds: cruising, driving tanks, cats and getting older.
If you've only known her from the telly, it's worth remembering where she started. Calman is an award-winning stand-up, writer and actress, and a long-time Edinburgh Fringe favourite, known for mixing observational humour with personal anecdote. That's the same approach she's bringing to Tall Talesβthe kind of storytelling that works best when you're in the room with her.
Her radio work is practically a tour of Radio 4: The News Quiz, The Unbelievable Truth, Dilemma, ISIHAC and So Wrong it's Right, plus presenting Woman's Hour and hosting Listomania for Radio 2. On television, she's a regular face on Have I Got News for You, QI, Mock the Week, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Would I Lie To You and β a long time ago β Strictly Come Dancing, as well as Grand Day Out and Cruising with Susan Calman. The cruising she mentions in the new show is something she's actually done for work, so that's one of the tales that'll be on the bill.

She says the stage is the absolute best way to see her, and adds a final little detail: you won't believe how short she really is. Tall Tales runs at The Pavilion Theatre, 121 Renfield Street, Glasgow City Centre G2 3AX, on Friday 13 November at 7:30pm.
