Ralph McTell presents 'From Clare to Here', a project bringing together Irish folk singers to reinterpret his work, at the Celtic Connections festival.
Ralph McTell is back at The Pavilion Theatre on Sunday 24 January 2027, as part of Celtic Connections. He's bringing From Clare to Here, a project he describes as Irish voices in his own words and music, and it's the world premiere of the whole thing.
Most people know him for 'Streets of London', but that's only a small part of the story. He's been writing and singing for more than six decades, and a huge part of that has been shaped by his connection to Ireland and its musical traditions. From Clare to Here pulls that thread right to the front: it brings together some of Ireland's most celebrated folk singers and musicians to reinterpret his songbook, and he's describing the result as a portrait of Ireland seen through an Englishman's eyes.
He won't be on his own for this one. He'll be on stage alongside an array of legendary Irish artists who've helped bring the project to life, so the night is as much about those voices as it is about his own. It's a return to Celtic Connections for him, and this is the first time the show is being presented in full.
