Annual festive market with 70+ stalls of handmade gifts, local crafts and baked goods at Riverside Museum.
The Riverside Museum Christmas Market returns to the Riverside Museum on Saturday 28 November, kicking off at 16:30 and running through to Sunday 29 November. It's an annual festive market, and this year it brings together over 70 stalls under one roof, so there's plenty to wander through without having to dash between different spots across the city.
What you'll find there is a mix of handmade gifts, local crafts and baked goods. With more than 70 stalls, it's a good place to pick up a few things at once rather than spending your whole December running around for separate bits. The handmade side of things means you're looking at stuff made by people rather than mass-produced, and the local crafts keep it rooted in the area. The baked goods are there too, so you can grab something to eat while you browse.
It's worth remembering where this fits into the wider Glasgow Christmas scene. The city usually comes alive this time of year with lights, laughter and festive cheer, from twinkling displays and family pantomimes to outdoor ice rinks and a Santa grotto. The traditional George Square Lights Switch-On was replaced by a Christmas lighting trail in 2025, and the Scottish pantomime — which grew out of the mid-19th-century music hall tradition — still draws families with its musical numbers, topical jokes and audience participation. The market is one of those things that sits alongside the rest of the season's offerings.
