Glasgow club night Pretty Ugly celebrates its 21st birthday with a Betwixmas bash featuring pop, indie and disco bops, strictly 18+.
Pretty Ugly are celebrating their 21st birthday at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut on Monday 28 December, a Betwixmas bash that fills the lull between Christmas and New Year's. It's a big one for the club night, marking two decades of dancefloor debauchery in Glasgow.
If you've never been, Pretty Ugly is billed as the city's most chaotic club night, and its birthday bashes have become legendary affairs. The organisers describe them as celebrations of more than twenty years of dancefloor debauchery, questionable dance moves and what they call the best crowd in town. It's a night that doesn't take itself too seriously, and the 21st birthday party keeps that same spirit.
The soundtrack is the night's signature: a mix of pop, indie and disco bops that pulls from all over the place. You'll hear ABBA and Bowie alongside Arctic Monkeys, Blondie and CMAT, so the set jumps between disco classics, indie staples and newer pop hits. It's the kind of selection that works for a big, mixed crowd rather than sticking to one particular era or genre.

Because it's a Betwixmas bash, it's one of those nights that gives you something to do when the Christmas parties have wound down but the New Year's Eve plans haven't quite kicked in. It's strictly 18+, and it's being held at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut, 272a St Vincent Street, in Glasgow City Centre. Doors open at 19:30 on Monday 28 December.
