A live theatre experience guided by former MI6 officer Matthew Dunn, taking audiences inside the world of Britain's foreign intelligence service.
Operation MI6 comes to The Pavilion Theatre on Thursday 11 February 2027, starting at 7.30pm. It's a live theatre experience that takes you inside the secretive world of Britain's foreign intelligence service, guided by former MI6 officer Matthew Dunn. Rather than a lecture, it's built around a live unfolding operation, dramatic recreations and real-world insight, looking at what happens behind the headlines: how intelligence operations are planned, how agents are recruited and how threats are identified, monitored and neutralised.
The show mixes theatre with live CCTV surveillance and aerial drone footage, all with expert commentary from someone who's actually lived it. It's a rare glimpse into a world very few people ever get to see, and having Dunn there to walk you through it keeps it grounded in experience rather than just theory.
The venue is The Pavilion Theatre, at 121 Renfield Street in Glasgow city centre, G2 3AX. It's one of the city's best-known variety theatres, first built in 1904 as a music hall. It still has its Edwardian-style façade, a grand entrance foyer with a marble staircase and stained glass windows, and an auditorium with ornate plasterwork and a proscenium arch stage, seating around 1,450 people. It's a historic part of Glasgow's cultural scene, and the scale of the place fits a show that uses screens and drone footage as part of the storytelling.
