Award-winning play about a homeless alcoholic on the streets of Dublin, starring Fíonna Hewitt-Twamley.
Myra's Story returns to The Pavilion Theatre from 26 January to 31 January 2027, after a run that's taken it through London's West End and four sell-out stints at the Edinburgh Fringe. It's an award-winning play written by Irish playwright Brian Foster, and Fíonna Hewitt-Twamley takes the title role as Myra.
The story follows a middle-aged homeless alcoholic struggling to survive on the streets of Dublin, begging from passers-by on the Ha'penny Bridge. From there, it looks back at the hilarious, tragic and heart-wrenching events that led her to that point of despair. It's a one-woman show, so the whole thing rests on Hewitt-Twamley carrying the narrative and the character on her own.
It's had a fair bit of a journey before landing back in Glasgow. Broadway Baby called it an 'outstanding play', and it's played to more than 150,000 theatregoers across Ireland, the UK and North America. This run at The Pavilion marks its return to the city.
