Singer-songwriter Maria Taylor plays the Glasgow University Union Drawing Room, supported by Louis Abbott (Admiral Fallow), for ages 18+.
Maria Taylor plays the Glasgow University Union on Saturday 24 October, with Louis Abbott of Admiral Fallow opening the bill. It's a Real Sounds night, and the Drawing Room is the room for it.
Taylor is a singer-songwriter known for hushed vocals, cinematic atmospheres and emotionally resonant storytelling, both as a solo artist and as a founding member of Azure Ray. Her latest album, Story's End, unfolds like a hazy, widescreen narrative, with each song tracing love, loss, fracture and the quiet search for solace. It was recorded between her California home studio and ARC Studios in Omaha, and features collaborations with Mike Mogis, Ben Brodin, Brad Armstrong, Conor Oberst and Nate Walcott. The Glasgow date is for ages 18+.
Supporting her is Louis Abbott, who you'll know from Admiral Fallow. He's a familiar name in the Scottish scene, and having him on the bill gives the night a local anchor before Taylor takes over. Between the two of them, it's a full evening of songwriting.
