A Buffy the Vampire Slayer themed horror film club omnibus night with Dyer's Wynd Books, with dress-up encouraged.
From Halloween To Christmas In Sunnydale: Buffy Holiday Omnibus comes to The Old Hairdressers on Thursday 3 December, a night that takes the town of Sunnydale into the holiday season. It's a collaboration between two Glasgow regulars: Final Girls Glasgow, a film discussion group and film club for women and nonbinary horror fans, and Dyer's Wynd Books, who curate rare and interesting titles across fantasy, horror, the occult and beyond.
The evening is built around Buffy the Vampire Slayer, with the screening focusing on episodes that fit a holiday mood. While the episodes run, you can browse through Dyer's Wynd's collection of new and second-hand books, with Buffy titles included in the mix. It's a night that lets you drift between the screen and the shelves, so you can watch a bit and then go hunting for something to take home.
Both organisers bring their own thing to the table. Final Girls Glasgow is a film club run for women and nonbinary horror fans, and Dyer's Wynd Books specialises in the strange and the supernatural. The night is open to all gender identities, though venue licensing means ticket holders must be over 18. And if you're in the mood for it, turning up in 90s or Buffy-inspired costume is highly encouraged.
