Frazey Ford

Frazey Ford plays the Old Fruitmarket on Sunday 17 January as part of Celtic Connections 2027. It's a standing show, so you'll be on your feet for the night.

Ford's sound sits at a cross between folk, soul, and psychedelia, with a bit of vintage funk woven in. She describes the set as being built around warm, organic grooves, shimmering keyboards and fluid bass lines, with her voice at the centre. The songs draw from her album U kin B the Sun and move between uplifting energy and quieter, more contemplative moments. The lyrics touch on personal growth, connection and self-discovery, and she frames the whole thing through storytelling.

It's a soulful, groove-rich set that lets the band's textures take the lead. The folk and soul elements provide the foundation, while the psychedelic and funk touches keep it from sitting too still. With the keyboards and bass lines driving the arrangements, the focus stays on the songs and the voice carrying them.

The gig starts at 8.00pm at the Old Fruitmarket on Candleriggs, G1 1NQ. Tickets are £32.86, which includes the booking fee. Under-16s must be accompanied by an adult.
