Count Arthur Strong's comedy show, part of his Farewell Tour of the World, at The Pavilion Theatre.
Count Arthur Strong is coming to The Pavilion Theatre on Sunday 18 April 2027, as part of his Farewell Tour of the World. It's a comedy show presented by Live Nation and Komedia Entertainment, and for those who know the character, the title And It's Goodnight From Me! carries a bit of weight.
If you're not familiar, Count Arthur Strong is the stage persona of comedian Steve Delaney. He first put the character together while studying at the Central School of Speech and Drama in the 1980s, and brought him back for the comedy circuit at the King's Head in Crouch End during the 1990s. His first Edinburgh Fringe run in 1997 won a Perrier Panel commendation, and from there he built a cult following. He's toured extensively over the years, from 2002's Forgotten Egypt! to the 2017 national tour Sound of Mucus.
Along the way, the character has picked up a wide circle of celebrity fans, including Ross Noble, Johnny Vegas, Steve Coogan, Jennifer Saunders, Martin Clunes, Paul Merton, Paul McCartney, and Billy Connolly. In 2008, Delaney started developing the character for television with Graham Linehan, which led to the BBC2 sitcom Count Arthur Strong in 2012, produced by Retort TV and Komedia Entertainment. That series earned several British Comedy and BAFTA nominations, including Best Sitcom.
