Chris Packham shares stories from his lifetime of curiosity and passion for nature, with specimens from his own collection.
Chris Packham is coming to The Pavilion Theatre Glasgow on Monday 2 November, with his show World of Wonder: A Planet on the Edge. He's been one of the UK's most recognisable voices for nature for nearly forty years, and if you've followed his work, you'll know the names: The Really Wild Show, Springwatch, Inside Our Autistic Minds and Earth.
The show opens like an encyclopaedia of stories drawn from a lifetime of curiosity and conviction. Much of it goes back to a childhood bedroom that was practically a museum in its own right—fox skulls, birds' eggs and jam jars full of tadpoles, snakes and lizards. He brings along extraordinary specimens from his own collection, so you'll see the real things he's talking about rather than just hearing about them.
Alongside the specimens, he shares untold stories from behind the camera, the kind of things that don't usually make it into the edited TV episodes. He also talks about the practical things we can all do to make a difference in a time of crisis, so it's not just a trip down memory lane—there's a clear look at where we are now and what comes next.
