Open studios weekend at Barclay Curle Studios, where independent artists and makers open their working studios to the public.
Barclay Curle Studios in the West End are opening their doors for their Open Studios weekend on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November, from 11am to 4pm both days. The building is home to a whole community of independent artists, makers and creatives, and this is the weekend they open up to the public. You can walk around the working studios and meet the people behind the work, with painters, jewellery makers, sewing and textile work, bespoke furniture, tea making and other independent creative businesses all under one roof.
It's a good way to see where things are actually made. You'll find work in progress on the benches and the chance to chat directly with the makers about what they do. Some of the artists run classes and workshops too, so if you've ever wanted to pick up a particular craft, this is a decent place to find someone who can show you how it's done. It's not a gallery show where everything is finished and hung on a wall; it's more about the process and the people behind it.

There's tea, coffee and home baking on hand, so you can take your time and drift from one studio to the next. It's a relaxed way to spend a morning or an afternoon, and because it's a weekend, you can pop in on either day. Entry is free, and there's free parking on site, so you don't have to worry about the West End parking scramble. The studios are at 739 South Street, Glasgow West End G14 0BX, open 11am to 4pm on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November.
