Bahookie bring their world-renowned Rock Ceilidh to Oran Mor with dinner and gig.
Bahookie are bringing their Rock Ceilidh to Òran Mór on Wednesday 30 December, a night that puts dinner and a gig under one roof. It's their world-renowned fusion of rock energy and traditional Scottish dance, and the whole evening is built around it: a dinner service followed by a live performance that ends in a ceilidh.
If you've never come across them, the Rock Ceilidh is exactly what it sounds like. They take the drive and volume of a rock band and set it to the rhythms of a Scottish ceilidh, so you've got the live music and the dancing happening together rather than one after the other. It's the kind of night that works just as well as a proper meal out as it does as a gig, and the ceilidh at the end means you're on your feet for the final stretch.
Because it's a dinner and a gig, there are two ways to do it. You can go for the full evening, with dinner and the show for £50, or just the gig for £16. If you're going for the food, the dinner doors open at 7pm and food is served from 7.30pm, so you'll be settled in well before the music starts. The main doors open at 8.30pm, and the ceilidh kicks off at 9pm.

It's a Wednesday night, and it's just two days before New Year's Eve, so it's a good spot for a mid-week outing when most of the city is already in the holiday mood. Òran Mór is on Byres Road in the West End, G12 8QX. Dinner and gig £50; gig only £16.
