Weekly workshop for babies aged 0 to walking and their carer to experience contemporary art in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
Art for Baby is running every Friday at the Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA) through to 19 December, with the next session on 20 October. It's a weekly workshop for babies aged 0 to walking and their carer to experience contemporary art in a relaxed, welcoming environment. The sessions are part of the gallery's broader Art For Baby collection.
They're held in GoMA's rooftop studio, which is set up with soft foam mats and cushions alongside carefully curated sensory toys and books. The idea is that you can create and chat while you're entertaining, soothing or feeding your baby, so you don't have to choose between the two. Adults and babies explore the galleries at their own pace, have conversations and make simple art projects to take home. It's a low-pressure way to bring a little one into a gallery setting without worrying about keeping them quiet or still.

If you're in the city with a baby, it's a decent excuse to get out of the house and into the galleries on a weekday morning. The sessions run from 11:00am to 12:00pm, so you're in and out within the hour. It's free to attend, but you do need to book in advance via Eventbrite, so it's worth sorting that before you head down. You'll find the rooftop studio at GoMA, 111 Royal Exchange Square, Glasgow G1 3AH.
