The Piccadilly Sinfonietta plays Vivaldi's The Four Seasons by candlelight in St Giles' Cathedral, with festive favourites and classical staples.
The Piccadilly Sinfonietta bring Vivaldi's The Four Seasons to St Giles' Cathedral on Friday 27 November, performed by candlelight in the heart of the Royal Mile. It's the main draw of the evening, and they pair it with a selection of festive favourites and classical staples, so you'll get more than just the one masterpiece. The concert runs from 20:00 to 21:30, and the cathedral is right on the High Street, easy enough to get to if you're already in the centre.
As for who's playing, the Piccadilly Sinfonietta is a touring ensemble that puts on more than 200 performances a year, so they're well-used to this kind of thing. They've built a reputation for their interpretations of baroque, classical and early romantic repertoire, and Classic FM has described them as 'stunning'. The Four Seasons sits right in that baroque wheelhouse, so it's a piece they're familiar with.
If you're thinking about the VIP option, there are a limited number of those tickets available. They come with a glass of Prosecco, front-row seating, a signed CD, fast-track queue access and a five-minute chat with the artist after the show. It's a fair bit more than a standard seat, but if you're going with a group or want something a bit more than just the music, it's there.
