Underworld play Princes Street Gardens West for their Edinburgh Hogmanay debut, with a live performance of 'Born Slippy (Nuxx)' for the New Year's countdown.
Underworld play Princes Street Gardens West on Thursday 31 December, their Edinburgh Hogmanay debut and their only Scottish date of 2026. Rick Smith and Karl Hyde will be on the Main Stage, and the set is expected to include 'Born Slippy (Nuxx)', the track that featured in Danny Boyle's 1996 film Trainspotting, which is set in the city.
For the first time in the event's history, the Midnight Moment will be soundtracked live by the duo, turning the countdown into a light, projection and firework display set below Edinburgh Castle as Scotland rings in 2027. A spokesperson for Unique Assembly, the company behind Edinburgh's Hogmanay, noted that Underworld have soundtracked 30 years of iconic Scottish moments.
