Weekly Saturday Tranquil Wisdom Insight Meditation (TWIM) session led by Ross Deighton at The Salisbury Centre.
TWIM Meditation runs every Saturday morning at The Salisbury Centre in Edinburgh, from 10:45 to 12:15. It's a weekly session, so if you can't make one, there's always the next.
TWIM stands for Tranquil Wisdom Insight Meditation, a gentle practice rooted in the earliest teachings of the Buddha, as taught by the late Bhante Vimalaramsi. It brings together tranquillity (samatha), insight (vipassanā), mindfulness, and loving-kindness (mettā) around the '6R Process' — a practical way of working with distractions. The idea is to recognise them, release them without resistance, relax tension, re-smile, and return to the meditation object. Through loving-kindness, the practice develops the Four Divine Abodes (Brahmavihāras) and offers insight into Dependent Origination.
The sessions are facilitated by Ross Deighton, who has explored meditation for over twenty years and came to TWIM in 2022. He's the one leading the group through the practice each week.
