A beginners sewing workshop to learn the essential skills needed to create a fully lined tote bag, suitable for complete beginners.
Artisan Stitch is running a beginners sewing workshop on Saturday 14 November, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, at their studio in St Margaret's House on London Road. The day is built around one project: making a fully lined tote bag from scratch. You'll walk in with nothing and leave with a finished bag you can actually use, and the basic skills to keep sewing on your own once you're home.
It's aimed at complete beginners, or anyone who hasn't touched a sewing machine since school. The session is run with clear demonstrations, step-by-step guidance, and plenty of hands-on practice, so you're not just watching someone else do it. By the end of the day, you'll have a finished, fully lined tote bag to take home, and the confidence to start sewing independently.
