Beginner-friendly crochet workshop led by Leigh Thornton to make a bobble hat, with all materials provided.
Leigh Thornton is running a crochet workshop at The Salisbury Centre on Saturday 7 November, from 2 pm to 4:30 pm. The session is held in the centre's library, at 2 Salisbury Road, EH16 5AB. The goal is simple: you'll make a bobble hat from scratch and take it home with you.
It's aimed at beginners, so you don't need to have ever picked up a crochet hook before. Thornton describes it as a mindful, relaxing afternoon of crafting, with plenty of room to chat with the other people in the room while you work. If you've been wanting to try crochet but didn't know where to start, this is a low-pressure way to get a first project finished in one go.
All the materials are provided, with a selection of colours to choose from. If you'd rather bring your own, you'll need a 200g ball of chunky yarn and a 10mm hook. There's fresh tea, coffee and biscuits on the table throughout the afternoon, and the session is open to anyone aged 12 and over.
