The Proclaimers live concert at Edinburgh Playhouse, with a brand-new album and touring dates across Scotland.
The Proclaimers are playing the Edinburgh Playhouse on Friday 27 November, part of a run of dates across Scotland. They're touring a brand-new album, so the set will be built around the new material, though they'll be drawing from the rest of their catalogue too.
For those who only know the big ones, the band is the Scottish identical twin brothers Craig and Charlie Reid, from Leith. They formed in 1983 and have spent the years since blending rock, folk, soul and country, held together by their close harmonies and unashamed Scottish accents. They first came to prominence in 1987 with Letter from America, followed by the global hit 'I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)' and the platinum 1988 album Sunshine on Leith. Across twelve studio albums, their music has increasingly become a vehicle for political commentary; in 2022 they released Dentures Out alongside three compilation albums and a DVD.
The venue is the Edinburgh Playhouse at 18-22 Greenside Place. It opened in 1929 as a grand super-cinema modelled on New York's Roxy Cinema, and it's now a Category A listed building, Scotland's largest theatre and a regular venue for the Edinburgh International Festival and the Fringe.
