A cast of world-class vocalists and a live band perform U2's biggest hits by candlelight at The Assembly Rooms.
The Music of U2 by Candlelight comes to The Assembly Rooms on Friday 12 February 2027, part of the 'Concerts by Candlelight' series produced by Kinda Dusty Ltd across the UK and Ireland. The format is straightforward: a live band and a cast of world-class vocalists perform U2's biggest hits in a candlelight setting, reworking the songs for the room. It's a tribute show rather than the band themselves, so the focus is on the songs rather than the original line-up.
The setlist draws from U2's most recognisable work. Among the songs they'll be playing are 'One', 'Bad', 'Beautiful Day', 'Pride', 'Vertigo', 'With or Without You' and 'Until the End of the World'. It's a broad sweep across their decades of recording, from the early post-punk energy of 'Until the End of the World' to the polished stadium sound of 'Beautiful Day'.
The Assembly Rooms is in Edinburgh New Town at 54 George Street, and it has a fully licensed bar if you want a drink before the music starts. Doors open at 6:45pm, and the concert begins at 7:30pm.
