Intimate Syrian supper club with menus by chef Noura of Noura and Quays, with conversation, at the social enterprise café Coffee Saints.
The Syrian Supper Club returns to Coffee Saints on Thursday 3 December, from 7pm to 9pm. It's run by the husband-and-wife chef team Noura and Quays, who've become well-known figures on the Edinburgh food scene: between August 2018 and March 2020 they held 26 supper clubs and sold over 500 tickets, making them a sought-after fixture. The menus lean on Noura's award-winning cooking, with her hummus and her famous Maqluba as regulars.
The night runs under the Cyrenians, a charity that supports people taking their first steps on their own food journeys through food-hygiene training, flatpack meal services and community pantries. Coffee Saints itself is Edinburgh's newest social enterprise café, run by the Grassmarket Community Project, a charity that supports some of the city's most vulnerable citizens and receives all the café's profits. The format is that of a classic Edinburgh supper club: an intimate setting, a shared meal by the host chef, and lively conversation to follow.
