A one-night-only dining experience aboard Fingal, Scotland's luxury floating hotel, featuring chef Nick Nairn's favourite dishes.
Nick Nairn is back at Fingal on Thursday 12 November for a one-night-only dining experience. If you're not familiar with the venue, Fingal is Scotland's luxury floating hotel, moored on the Shore at Leith, and for this one evening it's being taken over by one of the country's most celebrated chefs.
There's a bit of a full-circle moment to the whole thing. Before he was a household name in Scottish cooking, Nairn was a navigating officer in the Merchant Navy, so returning to a ship for a night of cooking is a nod to where he started. He'll be running the kitchen with his team, and the evening is built around three things: exceptional food, storytelling, and warm hospitality.
The meal starts with a complimentary glass of fizz, or an alcohol-free alternative if you prefer, followed by the chef's snacks to tide you over. From there, it's a specially curated four-course menu of some of Nairn's favourite dishes. Among the highlights are half Scottish lobster, Highland venison loin, and haggis, with a classic apple tarte Tatin to finish. It's a one-off, so this is the only night you'll be able to get this particular menu.
