The critically-acclaimed tap dance show makes its Scottish premiere at the King's Theatre, blending explosive tap with urban jazz, live percussion and visual theatre.
RB Dance Company bring Stories: The Tap Dance Sensation to the King's Theatre on Monday 9 November, the show's Scottish premiere. It's one date in a six-stop UK tour, and it's a far cry from a standard tap recital. The company blends explosive tap with urban jazz, live percussion and visual theatre, so it's as much about the stagecraft as the footwork.
The story follows Icarus, a young actor who's already a hit on screen. His ambition turns to obsession under the oppressive influence of a powerful film director, and an epic argument between them leaves him unable to escape the director's stranglehold. It's a narrative that runs through the whole thing, rather than a series of disconnected numbers.
RB Dance Company first hit the world stage when they reached the finals of France's Got Talent in both 2018 and 2024. Since then, the show has toured Europe to audiences of over 300,000, including sell-out runs at Sadler's Wells. Critics have called it 'breathtaking', 'exceptional', 'incredible' and 'mind-blowing'.

One thing to keep in mind before you book: haze and smoke effects, loud music and strobe lighting are used throughout, so it's a full-on sensory experience. The performance starts at 7.30pm and runs for about an hour and twenty minutes with no interval, so you're in and out in one go. Tickets are £39.50 to £53.50.
