One-hour immersive sound-healing session with Tibetan bowls, shamanic drum and voice channelling led by Maimouna Ly (Naomha Om).
Naomha Om is holding a sound healing bath at OMH Therapies Yoga & Meditation Studio on Friday 30 October, from 7pm to 8pm. The session is led by Maimouna Ly, who works under the name Naomha Om, and it's built around a wide range of instruments: the Tam Tam Gong, shamanic drum, Tibetan bowls, rain sticks, kalimba and voice channelling, alongside shamanic and light-language songs from the ancestors. Ly describes each sound bath as a different journey created in the present moment, so no two sessions are the same.
It's framed as an inner journey to relax the mind, body and soul, with the sound doing the subtle work of healing and transformation — releasing emotional blocks, grounding and connecting to your higher self. The session is held in a sacred space, and you'll spend the hour lying down while the different sounds wash over you. You'll need to bring your own mat, but pillows and blankets are provided, and there's water to drink on hand.
There are a few things to be aware of before you book. The session isn't suitable for people with certain conditions, including deep vein thrombosis, open wounds, acute inflammations, tumours, tinnitus, Meniere's disease, epilepsy, pacemakers or defibrillators and metallic implants, and it's advised against during the first trimester of pregnancy. If any of that applies, it's worth checking before you commit.
