Relaxation session with Tibetan singing bowls, a gong and drums played in slow, repetitive patterns to promote deep relaxation.
Art and Spirituality Centre is hosting a Sound Bath on Sunday 29 November, starting at 19:00. It's one of those sessions where you don't really do anything other than lie back and listen, which is exactly the point.
The sound comes from Tibetan singing bowls, a gong, and drums, played in slow, repetitive patterns. The idea is that the vibrations do the work for you, pulling you into a state of deep relaxation and leaving you feeling more grounded and mentally clear. There's no performance to follow or melody to keep track of; you're just invited to get comfortable and let the sounds unfold around you. If you've never been to one, that's the best way to think of it — less like a concert and more like a space to switch off.
It's worth keeping in mind that this isn't for everyone. There are a few contraindications to be aware of: it's not suitable if you're pregnant, have epilepsy or a history of seizures, or suffer from severe sound sensitivity or tinnitus. It's also not recommended for anyone with serious heart conditions or a pacemaker, severe mental health conditions, or those recovering from recent surgery. If any of that applies, this one probably isn't for you.
