Stand-up show in which Sofie Hagen asks herself if she did the right thing and what she will say with her last remaining freedom of speech.
Sofie Hagen is at Monkey Barrel Comedy on Thursday 15 April, with her show I Think Some Of This Is My Fault.
The set opens with a question that's been haunting her: Hagen has always tried to do the right thing, but now she's asking herself if she actually did. From there, it moves into what she'll say with her last remaining freedom of speech. It's the kind of premise that lets a comedian work through a specific obsession in front of you, and given the title, it's a good bet she'll be taking herself on for most of it.
The venue is Monkey Barrel Comedy, over in Edinburgh's Old Town at 9-12 Blair Street. It opened in 2017 and has grown into an award-winning room since then: Chortle named it Scotland's Best Comedy Venue in 2023, it's rated Edinburgh's number one comedy club, it won Best Comedy Show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and it's a three-time Scottish Comedy Award winner. It's owner-managed and independent, community-focused, and usually open seven days a week, with unreserved seating and pre-order food and drink. If you're not familiar with it, it's one of the city's most established comedy spots, and it's right in the heart of the Old Town.
