Stand-up show 'The Future' by alt-comedian Paul Foot, winner of the 2023 Edinburgh Comedy Awards for Best Show.
Paul Foot is back at Monkey Barrel Comedy on Thursday 29 October, with a brand-new stand-up show called The Future. It's presented by Plosive Live, and it follows on from his previous award-winning work.
If you're not familiar with him, Foot is often described as a pioneering alt-comedy hero, and he's a regular on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. His stage presence has also landed him on Would I Lie To You? and Never Mind the Buzzcocks, so he's well-known as a guest on the panel circuit as much as for his own stand-up. He won the Edinburgh Comedy Awards 2023 for Best Show and was a Chortle co-winner, with praise at the time that he was "funnier and more daring than I've ever seen him."
The Future is a new hour of stand-up, so it's fresh material rather than a run of old favourites. It's aimed at ages 14 and up, and it's the latest thing he's brought to the stage since that award-winning run in 2023. If you've seen his previous work, this is the next chapter; if you haven't, it's a good place to start.

The show is at Monkey Barrel Comedy, 9-12 Blair Street in the Old Town, EH1 1QR. Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 7.30pm, so there's plenty of time to get in and settle before he takes the stage. Tickets start from £16.50.
